With 4 upsets in Week 7, the range in the ratings is no longer expanding, but shrinking. As we come to the halfway point in the season, it's only natural that the system will have to reconcile apparent inconsistencies in team performance and we'll see some level of closeness. Maaaybe not enough to say that there's parity in the league, but I think we'll continue to have our expectations defied. It's impossible to call anyone a lock to make or miss the postseason at this point, of course. Anything can happen, no matter how inevitable one set of possibilities might seem. However. It would seem like Hamilton is fairly firmly in if they continue their winning ways—as they are projected to do—while BC and Toronto aren't expected to contend for anything for the rest of 2019. After months of posting about it on Discord and Reddit, I'm happy to be, finally, starting a blog on Blogger for FredRank! What is FredRank? It is a duo of composite indices for all NCAA Division I football teams. One index, featuring 20 computers and metrics, ranks the 130 teams of the Football Bowl Subdivision; the Football Championship Subdivision's 125 teams are ranked in a separate index which includes 14 computers and metrics. Each index ranks teams on a scale of 0 to 1. What is the purpose of FredRank? I use FredRank primarily as a means of projecting the Division I postseason. This includes: -the College Football Playoff, which features the top 4 teams of the FBS; -the 37 bowl games outside the CFP, which each feature 2 teams from the FBS; -the 24-team FCS championship bracket; -and the Celebration Bowl, which features the champions of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Freddy's CFL Ratings: 2019 Week 11

Today's post is about close games—because almost every team still has at least one on the schedule! This past week, three out of four games were close, decided by single digits and seeing both teams lead at some point. (The REDBLACKS were the only team who never led, their game being a blowout loss to the Riders.) See, everyone has at least one game marked as a tossup. This would be the final column on the right, which indicates the difference in wins between each team's ceiling and floor. As I indicated last week when I wrote to RiderFans.com , explaining what goes into my ratings, their team has the most to gain by winning their tossups. At best, my computer says they'll go 8-1 to end the season. That one loss would come at Winnipeg—against a Bombers team that appeared to struggle at times without Matt Nichols. With SSK @ WPG coming in less than two weeks now, it could be a great time for the Riders to strike if Winnipeg hasn't gotten it together by Septembe
