AAF Computer Rankings: 2019 Season, Week 4

My latest ratings for the AAF

#8 Atlanta Legends: This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. Even if you only just tuned in for Atlanta's first win, this past weekend, you should have heard plenty about how much the Legends had struggled under quarterback Matt Simms. With Aaron Murray now at the helm, however, the team's fortunes could be improving.

#7 Memphis Express: The main difference between the Express and the Legends is that the former had two close games against two good teams in the first three weeks, while the latter had been utterly pitiful. But this is yet another team who could be on the upswing under the direction of a new QB. The race for the Eastern Conference got a little more exciting this weekend.

#6 Arizona Hotshots: After a strong start to the season, Arizona's luck seems to have dried up. If they can't salvage it with a win this weekend, they might not win again this year.

#5 Salt Lake Stallions: The last-place Stallions are just a bit higher than the Hotshots here, riding their strong schedule thus far. Their impending date with San Diego could be the point where things start to turn around for good.

#4 San Antonio Commanders: After a hard two-game skid, the Commanders bounced back in a nail-biter in Birmingham. Like the other teams out West, it's hard to say whether the wins or the losses say more about this team. They should experience a big rise or a big fall once it becomes clear, and with the coming game in Tempe, expect clarity soon.

#3 San Diego Fleet: While the Fleet have performed well up to this point, losing Philip Nelson to a broken collarbone won't be any help keeping them here. How they respond to this when Salt Lake comes to town could be a make-or-break moment for the season.

#2 Birmingham Iron: While the Iron finally are feeling the sting of defeat for the first time, the matchup with the Apollos is actually more interesting now. Will Orlando continue their undefeated ride, or will the Iron have a fire in their belly that will lead them to an upset? Whoever wins will have the inside track to home field advantage in week 11.

#1 Orlando Apollos: Unsurprisingly, the last undefeated team tops this week's ranking. A visit to Birmingham could be the last big test for Steve Spurrier's team.

With these ratings, and a home-field advantage of 3.00, here are the computer spreads for week 5's games.

ORL -1.25 @ BHM
SLS @ SDF -7.38
MEM -3.00 @ ATL
SAC -.12 @ ARZ

After a week where my picks went 1-3 (after previously being 12-0), will the favorites get back on track? Or are we in for more upsets? Who's your lock and who's your dark horse? Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments, and don't forget to subscribe if you enjoy my content.
